As in keeping with our out of the classroom learning policy, together with our partners Top Deck, we have planned the most amazing European tour. Visiting 6 countries, namely France, Switzerland, Spain, Monaco, Italy and Vatican City.
Join us on a Europe tour that takes advantage of some of this historic continent’s most classic cities as well as some of its best natural charm. Along the way we’ll delve into the history of timeless cities like Rome and Paris, view renaissance art in Florence and indulge in the glamour of the Riviera. But that’s just the start as we will also be charmed by rural Italy and France, bask in the sun of Barcelona and be awed by the majestic Swiss Alps.
We arrive in London and after a short break, begin making our way toward Paris. “Vive La Paris” as they say. Café hop your way down Champs-Élysées and meander through the hallowed halls of the Louvre or Musee d’Orsay. Watch life go by in the Latin Quarter and experience the serene sunset over this romantic city in the arty Montmartre. You’ll be the envy of every other tourist in town when we lay out a picnic right by the Eiffel Tower, just for you. After seeing the sights of Paris and having a restful nights sleep, we head to Disneyland for some fun.
Practice your yodelling as we head to our breathtaking Swiss Alps getaway that could be straight out of Heidi. This idyllic Alpine valley is yours to explore. Hop on the famous Jungfrau railway that ascends through the bowels of the mountain and spits you out onto the ‘Roof of Europe’ for guaranteed summer snow and epic views. Spend a day in the snow, as we explore one of the small towns on the Jungfrau railway.
Go all medieval as we wind our way through the wine region of the Rhône Valley to Avignon, once-time home of the pope, and a lesson in the risk of burning bridges.
First stop, a visit to the marvel of Roman engineering that is the aqueduct Pont du Gard. We then cross over the peerless Pyrenees to Spain and hit up tapas town! From Plaza St Jaume to the Olympic Village, we visit these and many more over the two days in Barcelona as our tour guide discusses the architecture and history of the Spanish and political system of Spain. We explore the wonderfully Gaudf architecture at Park Guell, go shopping in Barcelona’s best boutiques and indulge in some traditional patatas bravas.
Off to Costa to cote for some celebrity spotting and the ultimate Mediterranean chill-out session, then on to the French Riviera. Monaco! Monaco! Monaco! We go to the worlds second smallest yet most expensive city. We begin with a tour of the royal palace before exploring outward from the city centre to the city burroughs.
After stopping off to sing a romantic ballad under Juliet’s balcony in Verona, it’s on to the city of canals and 118 islands, Venice. There are two perspectives of Venice and we will experience both. Stretch your legs on land as we check out the Rialto Bridge and St Mark’s Square on foot, and then test your sea legs as we view life from the water on a Vaporetto ride along the Grand Canal.
Time to see a Pisa about a tower for your own version of ‘THAT’ photo, then on to Florence for artistic and culinary delights in equal measure. Culinary excellence meets renaissance masterpieces in a city that’s half artisan food market half outdoor museum. Say ciao to the world’s most famous nude (Michelangelo’s David), shop for a watch on the Ponte Vecchio and feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up as you behold the Duomo. Later just eat, eat and eat some more.
On our way to Rome, we will pass through the quintessential Tuscan town of Orvieto, sitting proudly atop a hill, and then on to Caesar’s old stomping ground to learn more about what the Romans actually did. Rome is home to a legion of ancient and modern treasures and that’s just for starters. We will see the best of that Rome has to offer in a guided tour, including the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, the ancient Roman Forum, the Colosseum. Unfortunately… All roads must end in Rome as does ours. However, not to worry there’s always more gelati!
We then fly back home, bidding Europe a final farewell.
